Andy Garrett, CPA

Managing Partner

Andy Garrett started his career as an intern at WABC. He became a partner in 2002 and the Managing Partner in 2015. As Managing Partner, Andy oversees the firm’s M&A activity, business development, operations, corporate strategy and relationship management. He believes that true success can only be accomplished by leaving every client and team member with an enriching and memorable experience.

With over 30 years in the profession, Andy is recognized as a leader in accounting, tax work and consulting for the transportation industry and is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer. His expertise also extends to manufacturing, construction and wholesale distribution clients.

In his free time, Andy enjoys watching and playing all types of sports. He likes spending time at the beach, and he especially loves spending time with his wife and son.

Carl Baylin, CPA

Partner

Carl Baylin has been in accounting for 40 years – more than 30 of them with WABC.  He is experienced in complicated real estate and partnership tax issues and specializes in tax, real estate, finance, business planning, mergers and acquisitions and retirement planning.  Carl is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.

A graduate of the University of Baltimore, Carl is an active member of his community and the treasurer of United Support Against Multiple Sclerosis, an all-volunteer organization that provides educational and recreational services to Marylanders with MS.

Michele Tremblay, CPA, MST, AEP

As director of WABC’s tax department, Michele specializes in business consulting, tax reduction strategies and estate planning. She is an expert in working with businesses and their owners to implement  comprehensive planning tactics to minimize taxes while achieving goals. Michele has a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Baltimore and is a member of that institution’s Accounting Advisory Board. She is an accredited estate planner and past president of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council and a member of the National Association of Women’s Business Owners.

Michele has spent her entire 25-year accounting career with WABC, a decision she attributes to the unique level of care the firm shows to its clients and staff. In her free time, Michele is dedicated to her children’s activities and her community. When not at T-ball or soccer, she often can be found building sand castles on the beach.

Ezra Kronglas, CPA

Ezra has been advising businesses and individuals for over 35 years, helping them make financial decisions, devise tax saving strategies and implement accounting procedures. Ezra works closely with his clients, developing relationships that allow them to benefit from his knowledge and expertise. Ezra has been a partner in a local CPA firm for over 25 years before merging practices with Weil, Akman, Baylin & Coleman, P.A. Ezra holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola College (Suma Cum Laude), a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Baltimore and a Master of Talmudic Law from Ner Israel. Ezra is a member of the boards of local charitable organizations and devotes much time to his synagogue as well as to his growing family.

Ira Meier, CPA

Ira has been in the accounting field since 1971. He first attended the University of Maryland before leaving for National Guard Duty. He would finish his degree in 1973 at the University of Baltimore. Ira is a member of the AICPA and MACPA in addition to being a former member of the Management of an Accounting Practice (MAP Committee). He is also a former managing partner of Damie, Rothman, Meier and Kronglas, PA. Ira provides business and consulting services to various retail and service businesses and their owners. Ira has been married for 46 years and enjoys spending time with his three children and seven grandchildren.

Jeff Coleman, JD, CPA/ABV, CVA

Principal

A long-time resident of the Baltimore area, Jeff received his BA in accounting from Loyola College of Maryland in 1972.  Jeff also earned his law degree from University of Baltimore and is uniquely qualified to provide litigation support and expert testimony. Jeff’s colleagues, clients and family also know him as a world-traveler and devoted husband, father of three sons, and grandfather.  After nearly 40 years of professional experience, Jeff still feels the same love for his profession as when he took his first accounting class in high school.

James M. Kehl, CPA, M. S. Taxation is currently with the accounting firm of Weil, Akman, Baylin & Coleman, P. A. (WABC), which is located in Timonium, Maryland. Mr. Kehl is the author of The Practical Guide to Code Sec. 199 and the Code Sec. 199 Tax Planning & Compliance Manual. He has also authored articles on partnership income tax topics that have appeared in The Journal of Passthrough Entities, Taxes-The Tax Magazine, Tax Strategies, BNA’s Daily Tax Report, BNA’s Insights and Commentary and BNA’s Real Estate Taxation. Mr. Kehl is one of the contributing authors to the treatise by CCH entitled Federal Taxation of Partnerships & Partners.

Mary E. Hall has 35 years’ experience in public accounting with concentrations in tax, business accounting, and business management consulting. She has extensive professional involvement in complex taxation for individuals and small- and medium-sized businesses including consulting on mergers and acquisitions. A Certified Public Accountant, Mary obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola College in 1984, Summa Cum Laude. Her interests outside of work include playing golf, playing and watching tennis and spoiling her five grandchildren. She has five wonderful sisters and no brothers.

Michael Dancziger, CPA

Michael has been in public accounting for over 10 years and joined WABC in January 2014 with the DRMK merger. He oversees the accounting and tax requirements of many clients in a wide array of industry and values the lasting relationships he has developed through working with them to meet their needs and challenges, whether big or small. He also enjoys training and working with staff members who are beginning their careers in public accounting. Michael lives in Baltimore with his wife and five children.

Nicole Yost, CPA

Nicole joined WABC as an intern in 2001. After graduating from Western Maryland College, cum laude (currently known as McDaniel College) in 2002, she continued her accounting career with our firm.  Nicole works in our accounting and auditing department and has comprehensive tax knowledge to provide well-rounded services to our clients. She performs financial statement audits, reviews and compilations and provides business and tax consulting services to our business and individual clients. Her areas of expertise include construction, trucking, manufacturing and retirement plan audits.  When not in the office or at a clients, Nicole can be found on the playground with her daughter and husband or on the trails training for her next half marathon.

J. Richard Block, CPA

Principal

J. Richard Block has been representing law firms for over 20 years.  He is a frequent lecturer to the Maryland State Bar Association’s members on “How to Start a Law Practice” and “How to Make Law Firms More Profitable.”  In addition to his experience in accounting for law firms and litigation support, Richard has industry-specific expertise in construction, real estate and medical practice.

An undergraduate at the University of Maryland with a certificate of accounting from the University of Baltimore, Richard is active in civic affairs. He is on the Advisor Council of the Baltimore Community Foundation; has served as president of the Baltimore Jobs and Energy Project, an urban revitalization and job creation effort; and was a board member of the Village Learning Place in Baltimore.
